Once Mugie House was completed, we were commissioned by the owners of the Mugie Conservancy to build them a private house. Taking a similar architectural style to that which we’d developed for the lodge, we designed this generous house that is tucked into the edge of the same escarpment, less than half a kilometre away from each other.

The house consists of a main building that houses two reception rooms, the master bedroom with a private roof terrace and kitchens & stores. Two stand alone cottages flank the main house, each with private roof terrace, a luxurious bedroom/sitting room suite, dressing room and incredible bathrooms with three metre high windows overlooking the African plains to Mt. Kenya on the horizon.

A short walk from the main house is the pool house which has a shaded lounging area, dining room, bar, changing rooms & house keepers apartment above. The horizon pool projects out from the escarpment, sited to look directly at the mountain as one swims out and over the edge of the escarpment, elevated above the surrounding olive trees below.
